JFD: When my husband and I were first dating, it seemed that we had oysters every day. Our game was to make snobby wine-style comments about each variety. “This one has a caramel finish, with hints of ashy mango,” we’d say nonsensically while gazing at each other adoringly. Of course oysters do have subtle shadings and flavors, which may be best articulated when you’re not stupid in love and acting the fool. To get your fix of the many varieties, head to the River Oyster Bar. Their menu goes well beyond oysters, but your love affair with this place will start there.
